• Color recognition is a building block in language development and literacy. This insert reinforces color recognition and prompts keiki to not only find and identify the various colors, but allows mākua to initiate conversations to further expand their vocabulary.

• Constellation identification is just one of the many skills a navigator must learn. Master Navigator, Papa Mau Piailug, often referred to the stars as his friends. Over time, and practice, we hope keiki develop their own relationship with their friends in the sky.
